Between La Baule and Guérande, the XIV and XVIth centuries Château de Careil welcomes for receptions from September to May. A 4 stars camping is also opened in the park.
The castle was a defense site in the XIVth century from which it kept a parapet walk and its machicolation. The XVIth century left a Renaissance Britain aisle. It was then a protestant refuge for the calvinists and was attacked by the Catholic Ligue and rebuilt soon after. In 1699, the castle was sold at auction to a catholic family. After passing through different families, it became a restaurant "L'Auberge Fameuse" in the beginning of the XXth century. It is now a full-time residence open to the public for guided tours and receptions.
